Frequently Asked Questions

+ I’ve signed up, what happens next?

  1. You will receive a confirmation text and email from us inviting you to join a Facebook group. Please make sure you join this group as across the 8 weeks you will be provided with information via this group.
  2. Cancer Research UK will email you details to help set up your Just Giving Page.
  3. You will receive a text from your area rep, who will be your contact throughout training, within 14 days.
  4. We will invite you along to a registration meeting where we will give you all the information about the process and give you the chance to ask any questions you might have.
  5. Training starts!

+ How do I set up my Just Giving page?

When you sign up, you will receive an email from Cancer Research UK with details of how to set up your Just Giving page. If you did not get this email please click here, find the city you are taking part in and click ‘start fundraising with Just Giving’.

If you would like to order any fundraising materials or need any support with fundraising, please order online.

+ What will training be like?

Be prepared to be put through the paces, it will be a hard but rewarding experience. You will learn a new skill, meet new people and it will give you a sense of achievement. Training will be approximately 2 sessions a week and will be held on weekday evenings or weekends.

+ What is expected of me?

You will be expected to commit to 8 weeks of training and be able to attend as many sessions as possible.

We want you to:

  • Train hard and enjoy yourself.
  • Develop a new skill
  • Use the ‘I am Dancing’ Facebook cover image. Download
  • Pledge to raise a minimum of £50 for Cancer Research UK.
  • Sell tickets to friends and family to watch you perform.

+ I’ve signed up as an individual, do I need a dance partner?

If you have signed up as an individual you will be paired with someone else who has signed up as an individual from your training group.

We will try our best to find you a dance partner, but we would always advise that you find your own partner. Click here to download some artwork to help you find a partner.

+ How do I buy tickets?

Tickets can be bought from your area representative or online via Eventbrite. Please click here to find your event and purchase tickets.

+ Who can I contact for help or advice?

The Team at Ultra Ballroom are on hand to help you with anything you need during your experience. If you need anything you can contact us via:

+ What is the minimum age limit?

Everyone who wishes to take part in an event must be over 18. Spectators coming to an event must be over 12 years old.

+ Can I be insured?

All participants will be insured for training and the event by Bluefin Insurance.
